Development of high biodiversity indicators in deciduous trees

Hello! Welcome to my webpage, highlighting my Master thesis about decidious trees with high biodiversity value. My name is Joakim Mathiasson and I am a student at the master program Ecology and the Environment at Linköping University.

Since I started studying biology I have discovered the fascinating and complex ecology of the nature I have previously ignored. Now, learning about and experiencing Nordic biodiversity have become one of my largest interests in life. Therefore I decided to study one Swedens most important ecological structures: Old decidious trees! Specifically, features of a tree that are important when assesing it´s biodiversity value.

Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) with high biodiversity value. Yellow cap by the trunk for scale.
