Jorge Duran

Problem-solving in a cooperative task in red-fronted macaw (Ara rubrogenys)

“My name is Jorge Durán, I am a Spanish biologist and vet assistant that has always been amazed about nature, more particularly animals. During my years as student, I have tried to help animals in multiple ways. I started by working in a conservation program of sea turtles in Panama, participating in rehabilitation programs for sea turtles in an aquarium, working in a surgery center for pets, and ending by researching these endangered parrots for my master thesis. Thanks to my studies I had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of animals to the date and they have shown me that all of them are incredible on their own, thus I took the decision of contributing to maintaining their populations and ecosystems”

“Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That’s the problem.” ― A.A. Milne
