Navigating minds and melodies: Pied flycatcher cognitive exploration
Hey there! I’m Marie, a globe-trotting French student with a passion for all things wild and wonderful. My journey in the world of animal science started with a Zoology Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nottingham.
For my master thesis, I delved into the intriguing world of the European pied flycatcher, studying these fascinating birds in their natural habitat with my supervisor David Wheatcroft in collaboration with Stockholm University.
My research focused on uncovering the cognitive abilities of these feathered friends and exploring if their smarts were linked to the complexity of their songs.
When I’m not in the field you’ll find me dreaming up new ways to contribute to animal conservation and studying the wonders of wildlife. So, whether you’re here to learn about my research, share a passion for animals, or just curious about the life of a wandering zoologist, welcome aboard!
Let’s embark on this wild journey together! 🌍🦜🧠
