WHAT DID I FIND?

The findings presented herein provide evidence suggesting that Prenatal Maternal Stress results in neurodevelopmental deficits which especially interest non-neuronal cell populations.

Maternal Stress influenced different brain variables in different brain regions:

  • TELENCEPHALON
Prenatal maternal stress significantly reduces Mass (Only in Females) and marginally reduces Non-neurons.
  • CEREBELLUM
Prenatal maternal stress marginally reduces Non-Neuron number (Only in Females).
  • WHOLE BRAIN
Prenatal maternal stress marginally reduces Proportional Mass (Only in Females).

Overall, prenatal maternal stress showed mainly sex-dependent effects, with an impact of particular importance on Non-Neuronal populations, but no significant influence on Neuronal numbers.
