EZH2

The compulsive rats wich received an artificial decrease of the EZH2 enzyme displayed a significant reduction in compulsive alcohol intake! This leads us to believe that this mechanism is involved in the addictive processes regarding alcohol. More studies should be performed to investigate further and develop medical applications!

 PKCδneurons

Although the activation of  PKCδneurons seem a necessary condition to display compulsive behaviour (as observed by Domi et al., 2021), it does not seem to be a sufficient cause. In this experiment I did not observe the difference in compulsive drinking I was expecting. Despite these results, I still found something interesting that could be investigated further, regarding the sex difference and these particular neurons! This topic requests more time and space, so if you are more interested I invite you to read my manuscript!
